Covering a sprawling 48 acres in downtown Chillicothe, Yoctangee Park is a Ross County treasure. Used throughout the year for various community activities, it's also just a nice place to hang out with the family on a pleasant day.
Contact Chillicothe Parks and Recreation to reserve a covered pavillion for your group activity, or pack a lunch and settle in at one of many picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds at Yoctangee.
Even if you head to the park alone, you'll never be without a lunch date at Yoctangee Park.

I’ll be featuring 26 local Ohio businesses and attractions during May, starting with the letter Z on May 2 and working back to the letter A on May 30, while participating in the Z to A in May blogging challenge.

You live in a beautiful area!
I’m blogging my way back from Z to A and my “Y” post is right here.
Oh wow - look at the river! I LOVED going to the park when I lived there. We lived just a few blocks away on Water Street. It's a beautiful park!
Now I want to go out to local parks like that around here.
Very clever idea for your theme. Lovely pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I love the theme of this blog, and the Z to A concept in doing so. Loving the pics, too!
Beautiful pictures!
nice job and great idea!
Hello! I live near Columbus now, but I lived in Chillicothe for a few years A LONG time ago. I used to visit Yochtangee park a lot--but, it's been about 17 years!
Beautiful! A nice place for a relaxing day.
The pictures are very nice. In Toronto, we are still having rain and cold. Waiting for the wonderful summer...
Wonderful pictures!
It's a wonder that the park hasn't flooded yet with all this rain. Am so sick of this weather. Can't believe that it is suppose to frost tonight. Love your pic, btw.
Great photos--and not a rain drop on the lens! Love the weeping willow. You should do the park's PR work.
Fabulous Park! My Dad grew up just a stones throw from the Park. I always go through the Park when I'm in town. He grew up on Mill Street.
There's much history surrounding that park.
Love your pics.
We really do need to meet for lunch.
Sandy
