Kenworth Layoff Will Hurt Ohio Residents

1996 Kenworth built in Chillicothe
Ross County will take a hit with Kenworth laying off 10% of the workforce in its Chillicothe plant.  Business was trucking along in 2011 thanks to tax incentives which pushed up sales that allowed the company to hire in excess of 1,000 workers last year.

With over 2,000 estimated to be on the payroll in the local plant, that means about 200 will be out of a job after this week.

I’ll be blogging every day of the week (except Sundays) during the month of April for the A-Z Blogging Challenge. Each post will be on a topic that corresponds with the letter of the alphabet scheduled for that day.

Ugh, sad news. We also learned of a local layoff in my city this week. Delta Airlines is closing its reservations center...hundreds will lose their jobs. Sad economy! ~ Angela, Whole Foods Living, http://www.wholefoodsliving.blogspot.com/

Chillicothe really doesn't need something like this, over the years it's sad some of the businesses they've lost. Maybe it won't be a permanent thing? I remember hearing this on the news on night.

Rounding today from Traveling Suitcase to wish you a happy almost wkend.

Obamanomics at work. Those who opposed his plan pointed out these types of layoffs would eventually come around. It's too bad real people have to suffer at the hands of politicians of any party simply for the politicians benefit.

Sandy, rounding again from Traveling Suitcase. Jeremy Bates, Obama has nothing to do with these lay offs. The downturn in our economy happened under GW, that's when we went so far into dedt.
